You are welcome here.

We might often feel alone in our wanderings, in our doubts and frustrations—especially in the things we don’t even know how to name.

Hi, I'm Jess, and I'm so humbled that you would invite me into this space to share words with you. In this space, I like to remain curious about faith, life, and the person of Jesus. For me, Jesus has been someone that intrigues me, confounds me, and causes me to consider how I see myself and my neighbor.

And while I have remained curious about these things, for some who have been hurt, bruised, and burned by the church, Christianity and faith can be hard to come to. And so, sometimes I might ask questions or write things here that might cause you to question my faith or my rightness and I invite you to kindly and graciously engage with me about that—I'm here to learn with you and from you.

With this in mind, can I invite you to remember with me that someone here might be risking with Jesus for the first time? Someone here might be doubting everything they've ever been taught. Someone here might be asking questions or naming things, not because they are trying to be controversial or provocative, but because they want to know who Jesus really is and what he's really about. Someone here might be looking for a glimpse of hope that tells them that Jesus is good and kind and gentle.

Wherever you are today, I want you to know that you are welcome here—even if you don't agree with me or share my faith. I love sitting here with you—in doubt, in the questioning, and in the hope we see dimly.

In joy and pain,
Jess

Say hi

I love the chance to connect with you in this small, but meaningful way. Thanks for taking the risk of saying hi!
